We specialize in the design, build and installation of customizable Murphy beds. These can be built in Twin, Full, or Queen sizes in a horizontal or vertical style, depending on client preference and on the space permitted by the room. We are also happy to discuss the build of other woodcraft ideas that clients may have. We’ve done bookshelves, cubbies, kneelers, and other items.
Free Measurements/Estimates
If the general price fits the budget, an appointment can be scheduled at your home to verify that the dimensions of the bed (or other furniture/accessory) will fit the room, to discuss trim design and other customizing options, to break down set costs and potential costs, and to answer any other questions you may have. There is no financial commitment necessary before or at the end of this preliminary meeting.
Pick-Up of Materials $150-$200
We will pick up and order all materials needed to build and install a functional Murphy bed according to the preferences chosen by the client.
Bed Build & Home Install
Murphy bed components are built out of dimensioned cabinet-grade lumber (no particle board), hardware will be installed, and components will be installed in the desired room, resulting in a functioning Murphy bed cabinet.
Painting/Staining of Components (Optional)
Bed cabinet components can be primed and painted or stained and sealed if desired. For higher gloss paints or stains, upgrading lumber is recommended.
Trim Install (Optional)
Trim can also be added to the Murphy bed cabinet and can be customized according to a design we’ve used before. Or if you’d like something different, show us a picture, and we’ll try to match it as best we can!
Cabinet Lights (Optional)
Cabinet lights with automatic shut-off and a touch dimmer can be added to the Murphy bed cabinet, if desired. These are a nice feature and serve to illuminate the chosen color of the bed as well as any artwork hung in the space above the headboard.
Fold-Up Desk Accessory (Optional)
If desired, a fold-up desk can be built and installed on the closed face of the Murphy bed cabinet. This can be folded down flush with the trim and latched to the face of the bed when the bed needs to be used or just to conserve space in the room when the desk isn’t in use. Soss invisible hinges are used for the folding mechanism so that, at all times, the hinges are unseen, whether the desk is folded up or down.
