Exceptional Craftsmanship
Back Shed Carpentry began for me as a teenager, when I learned many of the basic tricks of the trade under two mentors who imparted a basic foundation in the skills of carpentry. Since then, I’ve built on these skills over the years with various personal projects, but carpentry was always a hobby until our family first moved into our first home. Unable to decide between using our spare room as a playroom for our girls or as a guest bedroom, my wife Claire had the brilliant idea of building a Murphy bed to meet this need. We got to work right away and were thrilled with the wardrobe-disguised bed that resulted. Now, our girls have a space for play that can be converted into a guest bedroom in seconds.
During the school year, we service Frederick County, Howard County, Montgomery County, Loudoun County, Fairfax County, and other surrounding areas along the Northern Virginia-Maryland border. And during the Summer months, we move our operation to Louisiana, servicing Lafayette Parish, St. Landry Parish, Acadian Parish, and the surrounding area.
Since then, we’ve completed various other projects, including wall cubbies and bookshelves for the fourth-graders I teach, a custom king-bed frame, a kneeler, and even a privacy fence. We do Murphy beds best and have it mostly down to a science by now, but we are happy to consult and deliver on other homemade woodcrafts our clients are interested in having built.
